Spring is in the Air...Lots and lots of Spring
I sat on a little wall outside of Landis Hall on Monday so I could enjoy the sun and watch as transfer students walked to their advising sessions and such. It was a great day, the weather was awesome, I wasn't stressed at all about the huge exam I had the next day. The sun was shining brightly and there was a nice cool breeze...or at least is seemed like a nice cool breeze, until I saw IT. No, not the creepy clown from the movie, but a giant cloud of yellow. I couldn't believe it. The pollen levels were ridiculous.
Later, when I got in my car to go get food, I saw the real damage of the season. My car was completely yellow as well. It was horrible--I JUST got my car washed :(
There are some possitive aspects to this time of year though. For one, the flowers are in bloom. FSU has so many flowers around campus, it's amazing. In front of Kellum hall, where I live, there is new landscaping with little flower bushes all along the walkway. The integration statue near the Union also got new flowers and small plants that add to the beauty of the monument. It makes me proud to walk across the campus and admire the beautiful landscape around me. I'm glad there are professionals that look after our campus too...had it been my mom, the flowers would be dead for sure haha
Of course all of these great visuals means another time of year is coming...end of term exams and projects. Sure, I have a couple of weeks before the end of the semester, but that doesn't stop the professors from piling on the work. I have what feels like a billion pages of books to read and three thousand pages of essays to write and like 4 exams (don't want to over exagerate those, they're bad enough). The best I can do is keep going to class, take notes, and try to get a decent amount of sleep every night. Especially during the week so I can have fun on the weekends.
This weekend my fraternity is having a probate on Florida A & M University's campus. I love presenting our new members to the community, and it's always a good thing to have hardworking brothers. Afterwards, I have to read for World Theatre History II, which is the toughest class I've ever taken. Saturday I have training with my fellow C.A.R.E. Counselors :) :) :) :) and then a performance by the dance faculty in the dance department. Sunday however, will not be fun. I have to drive home to Citrus County (see map -- Hernando specifically) because I have Jury Duty on Monday!!! GAH!!! And hopefully I will have a doctor's appointment on Tuesday to get see about getting my tonsils out :-/
Life should resume normalcy on Wednesday...at least that's my hope. Oh Spring...full of surprises...
