All students who wish to claim Florida residency for tuition purposes must complete the residency declaration form before attending orientation. If you haven't completed your form already, visit Application Status Check to complete this task.
Update your Self-Reported Student Academic Record (SSAR) with your final, senior-year grades by logging in to the SSAR website. Submit the updates by clicking the Complete button at the bottom of the Review/Submit section. If you do not re-lock your SSAR, FSU will not receive your updated information.
The Office of Admissions requires an official, final high school transcript sent directly from your school to the University. If you have dual enrollment credit, you must also send an official college transcript(s). All official test scores (ACT and/or SAT) must be sent by the respective testing agency to FSU. All official transcripts and test scores must be received by July 12, 2023. In addition to verifying the accuracy of your SSAR with your high school and college transcripts, and your self-reported scores with your official test scores, we will check your senior grades. If you earn any grades below a C in your first and/or second semester of senior year, we may rescind your admission. At the end of the Fall 2023 term, you must send an official, final college transcript to FSU Admissions to show you have met all admission conditions.
You must enroll in 15 semester hours of graded college credit at Tallahassee Community College in the fall. Students who take courses during the summer at TCC still take 15 semester hours during the fall. Our 15 hour fall requirement cannot be split between summer and fall. You should follow the Academic Program Guide at academic-guide.fsu.edu for major milestones and recommended college courses to be taken.
You must earn a minimum 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) college grade point average in your fall classes with no grade below C. If you take classes in the summer, your college GPA for that term must also be 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) with no grade below C. If you take summer classes, you must have an official transcript sent to FSU Admissions before the start of fall term.
You must enroll in ENC 1101 (the first English composition class), unless you have earned college credit for English composition through AICE, AP, IB, CLEP, and/or dual enrollment. Refer to Accelerated Credit at admissions.fsu.edu/credit for college credit awarded through acceleration.
You must enroll in the required math for your major (MAC 1105, MGF 1106, or MGF 1107), unless you have already earned comparable or higher-level course credit through an accelerated mechanism such as AP, IB, AICE, CLEP, or dual-enrollment. Refer to Accelerated Credit at admissions.fsu.edu/credit for college credit awarded through acceleration. Refer to the Academic Program Guide at academic-guide.fsu.edu for your major's math requirement.
Up to 45 semester hours of credit can be awarded by taking AICE, AP, IB, and/or CLEP tests and achieving appropriate scores. Accelerated credit cannot count towards your 15 Hour Performance Standard Requirement for fall, but may cover your English and/or Math Requirement. All official AP, IB, AICE, and/or CLEP results must be sent to the FSU Registrar from their respective testing agencies before the end of summer. Learn more about what credit you may be eligible for at admissions.fsu.edu/credit.
FSU Information Technology Services will send you an email containing your unique FSUID and email address. Go to my.fsu.edu, click Manage FSUID/Password and follow the steps to complete the FSUID activation process.
NOTE: If you were previously admitted to the University, you were already assigned a unique FSUID. To gain access to myFSU Portal, please log in using the FSUID you were initially assigned.
For information on how to activate your FSUID, please see our How to Activate Your FSUID guide.
To help you prepare for your fall requirements, here are the steps for applying early to Tallahassee Community College as an AA degree-seeking student:
After you apply to TCC, you will receive your TCC email address and student ID. You will be assigned a TCC Admissions Navigator, and you should receive an email from your Navigator.
After activating your FSUID, you must register for orientation, which is a mandatory, multi-step process. Orientation registration will open in mid-September, and you are encouraged to register as early as possible for a session. Visit our Orientation Overview for additional information.
Before you can register for classes at orientation, you must complete our immunization form showing proof of two combined MMR vaccines and either showing proof of or completing a waiver for Hepatitis B and Meningococcal Meningitis vaccines.
For Spring 2024, all eligible students will choose to either "OPT Out" of the Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP) with a comparable health insurance policy or purchase the SHIP.
For information regarding our immunization requirement, how to provide proof of health insurance coverage, or information on FSU's health insurance plan, visit studentinsurance.fsu.edu.
Review on-campus housing at housing.fsu.edu. The Spring housing contract is available starting in late fall. Since housing is not guaranteed but determined on a first come, first served basis, it is important for you to submit your housing pre-payment early. On-campus housing is not required if students already have off-campus accommodations.
While you are not required to purchase a meal plan, we recommend doing so. Visit Seminole Dining for information on the many dining options available to you throughout campus.
Applying for Financial Aid requires you to submit the FAFSA. You can apply now for the 2023/2024 Academic Year. You can complete the application at FAFSA® Application | Federal Student Aid.
