STEP 1: Complete the Enroll Intent Form
Submit the enroll intent form to confirm whether you plan to attend FSU for the specified term. This form must be completed for you to access course registration.
STEP 2: Reactivate Your FSUID
If you have not accessed Florida State's online systems in some time, or if you have forgotten your password, you may need to reactivate your FSUID. To reactivate your FSUID or reset your password, go to the myFSU portal (my.fsu.edu) and click Manage FSUID/Password, then follow the on-screen steps. For further assistance with your FSUID, please contact the FSU IT Services Desk.
STEP 3: Submit Your Immunization Form
As a readmitted student to our university, Florida law requires you to provide health history and immunization information to the Health Compliance Office before you can register for classes. You can find the required form at University Health Services.
STEP 4: Submit Proof of Health Insurance
Florida State requires that all full-time students have health insurance. You must either enroll in the University-sponsored plan or provide proof of comparable health insurance coverage by submitting your insurance information online at University Health Services. You cannot register for classes until you meet this annual requirement.
- To learn more about the mandatory health insurance requirement and the costs associated with the University-sponsored plan, please visit Health Compliance.
- Check your myFSU Portal to see the status of your immunization and health insurance status. If your portal indicates a problem with either immunizations or insurance, you may contact University Health Services by email at healthcompliance@fsu.edu or phone at 850.644.3608 for further assistance.
STEP 5: Complete Your FAFSA
The Office of Financial Aid assists students with securing federal, state, and institutional financial aid. To apply for financial aid, you must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
- If you have been admitted for Spring 2025, please complete the 2024-2025 FAFSA as soon as possible.
- If you have been admitted to FSU for Summer 2025 and wish to apply for financial aid, please complete both the 2024-2025 FAFSA and the 2025-2026 FAFSA.
- If you have been admitted for Fall 2025, please complete the 2024-2025 FAFSA as soon as possible.
- If you wish to accept Federal Direct Stafford loans as part of your financial aid award, make sure you complete the Loan Entrance Counseling and Master Promissory Note. This must be completed for Florida State, even if you previously received loans at another school.
- To view your financial aid information, you must first claim your permanent FSUID (see step 1), then you can log in through your myFSU Portal.
- If you will be receiving Florida Bright Futures or any other state of Florida scholarship, ensure our school code (371) is listed on your state scholarship application. You can update this online or call the State of Florida Office of Student Financial Assistance at 1.888.827.2004.
STEP 6: Check Your Residency Status
Important information about residency is available on the Office of Admissions' Residency page. If you are currently a Florida resident, you must complete the Residency Declaration form located under the Checklist section on your Application Status Check before enrolling at the university. You should do so even if you were previously classified in-state by FSU or any other Florida institution.
NOTE:
- International students are not eligible to apply for Florida residency.
- Given limited and specific conditions, state law does allow students to petition for a change in residency status after residing in the state for 12 months. Moreover, Florida law sets a high standard for reclassification, and the process requires numerous date-specific documents. It is to your benefit to carefully review the information regarding reclassification.
For questions regarding residency classification or reclassification, please email residency@fsu.edu or call (850)644-6200.
STEP 7: Prepare for Registration
You must meet with your departmental/program advisor prior to registering for classes. For course registration information, visit the University Registrar's website. Course information is obtained and registration is performed online through myFSU Portal. You will also use this site to obtain your class schedule, check your grades, print an unofficial transcript, and update your records.
FSU has a mandatory first-class-meeting attendance policy. For information about this policy, consult the Academic Regulations section of the Undergraduate Bulletin.
STEP 8: Submit Final Transcript(s)
Review the final transcripts that are needed on your application checklist and submit those documents to the Office of Admissions as soon as your final grades and/or degree are posted.
STEP 9: Review Your Conditions of Admission
We outlined the conditions of admission in your acceptance letter, which is visible on the Application Status Check. If you do not meet the conditions listed there, your admission may be rescinded. Please contact the Office of Admissions immediately if you think you may not meet the conditions of admission.
