My favorite thing about Tallahassee:
Hailing from a large, fast-paced city to a smaller, more intimate town propelled me to get out doors and establish deep connections within Tallahassee's community. These community members made me fall in love with not only them but the town. First Friday is one of many community-wide events where live music is played and the food is abundant for everyone to enjoy. Everyone has the opportunity to support local small businesses and just have an enjoyable time with one another. The community aspect of Tallahassee is what makes it so special to me.
What I enjoy the most about FSU:
While an undergraduate student at FSU, I definitely took advantage of the research opportunities offered by the university. With Florida State University being a preeminent research university, I was able to find various subjects interesting to explore. My inquisitive nature led me to gain experience in researching interdisciplinary based projects which ended with me being able to present at the President's Showcase of Undergraduate Research Excellence. If you have a question in mind, I dare you to utilize FSU's resources to find an answer.
My advice for future Seminoles:
GET ACTIVE! Florida State University offers a plethora of ways to engage with not only the student body, but the surrounding areas of Tallahassee. There's opportunities for you to discover a hidden talent, partake in many FSU student organizations, and ultimately, provide you with more chances to continue exploring yourself and all that you have to offer. I advise that you hit the ground running and begin engaging with student organizations, faculty, and staff, as soon as you touch campus.
